Nao Takashina 高科直 

Nao Takashina is an Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo whose research focuses on theoretical ecology, conservation biology, and fisheries management. His current projects include (i) evaluating the effective implementation of protected areas in marine and terrestrial ecosystems, (ii) investigating socio-ecological systems in ecosystem management and conservation, and (iii) developing mathematical models of ecosystems to understand macroecological patterns across spatial scales. He has also served as an Associate Editor for Conservation Biology since 2025.

理論生態学や保全生物学，水産資源管理など研究を行っています。生態学・社会経済学的な視点を統合し，生態系管理における意思決定がどのような帰結を生むのか，また管理目標を効果的に達成するための枠組みの構築を目指しています。あるいは個体群動態，マクロ生態学，生態系サンプリング理論などの研究も行っています。こちらは個体〜生態系レベルの動態をグローバルスケールにおいて記述する統一的数理モデルの構築，地球規模の生物多様性の形成維持機構およびその効果的保全戦略を明らかにすることを目標にしています。

Muhammad Taimur Siddique

I am from Pakistan and I completed my Master’s degree in Environmental Science at Hokkaido University and am currently pursuing a PhD at The University of Tokyo. My research sits at the intersection of data science and ecology, leveraging machine learning and AI forecasting models to address climate change and biodiversity loss. I am particularly focused on biodiversity assessment, conservation planning under future climate scenarios, and designing highly effective, data-driven protected area boundaries.

Yuri Kusumura 楠村由梨 

海洋保全や水産資源管理に関心を持ち、海洋利用と地域社会の両立に関する研究を行いたいと考えています。特に、海洋保護区（MPA）やブルーエコノミーをテーマとして、海洋保全施策が与える社会経済的影響に興味があります。今後は、生態学的視点と社会科学的視点の両方を取り入れながら、持続可能な海洋利用のあり方について研究を深めていきたいと考えています。
